Specialises in
I am a Gynaecology Consultant and have worked in the University Hospitals of Leicester since January 2017. I am the Lead for Menopause services and have broad experience in general gynaecology. I have a special interest in ambulatory gynaecology, where patients have procedures performed while awake in clinic.
I deliver a wide range of general gynaecology services: the management of menstrual disorders, post-menopausal bleeding, fibroids, ovarian cysts, prolapse and chronic pelvic pain. I also deliver many other services to such as abdominal and vaginal hysterectomies, operations to remove ovarian cysts, vaginal operations to correct prolapse, female laparoscopic sterilisation procedures, advanced hysteroscopic surgeries for the removal of polyps and submucous fibroids, MyoSure, endometrial ablations and the insertion of Mirena coil.
In the NHS, I manage early pregnancy complications such as ectopic pregnancy and miscarriages, to which I additionally perform early pregnancy scans.
I run a very busy complex menopause clinic in the Leicester Royal Infirmary where I provide women holistic and patient-centred care. Alongside menopause consultations, I offer estrogen implants and testosterone therapy in clinics. I am a FSRH ( Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health), BMS (British Menopause Society) and RCOG (ATSM preceptor) recognised trainer for the menopause module. I also provide advice and guidance services to GP colleagues about menopause queries.
Medical education is something I am greatly committed to and I am actively involved in the teaching of medical students and trainees. I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer for the University of Leicester Medical School and in 2018, I had the honour of receiving the Star Tutor Award, a feat I am very proud of.
