Some of the principal treatments carried out by Miss Patricia Allen at Spire include:
Miss Allen performs arthroscopic ankle surgery, rheumatoid foot and ankle surgery and treats neurological disorders of the foot and ankle, foot deformity (including bunion surgery) and sports injuries of the foot and ankle.
I trained in orthopaedic surgery in Birmingham and Bristol. I undertook a fellowship in foot and ankle and paediatric orthopaedic surgery in Dublin in 1998 and was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Bristol in 2000. I moved to Leicester as a Consultant in 2003 and have developed the Foot and Ankle service here.
My practice encompasses all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, including arthroscopic surgery (including arthrodesis or fusion), deformity correction, rheumatoid forefoot reconstruction, soft tissue and tendon disorders and sports injuries.
I have a particular interest in neurological deformities of the foot and ankle and hindfoot arthrodesis (fusion). I perform all forms of forefoot surgery, including complex revision surgery and much of the forefoot work I undertake can be performed under local and regional anaesthesia to avoid the need for a general anaesthetic.
I am Secretary of the Scientific Committee - British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.
