Dr Mark McConnochie
MBChB, MRCPsych, MSc
I am a consultant psychiatrist specialising in General Adult Psychiatry.
I have over 13 years’ experience in psychiatry including over 7 years as a consultant, both within a Crisis Team and a Community Mental Health Team. I offer comprehensive assessment and management to adults (18-65) suffering with a variety of conditions including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders and personality disorders. I have previously co-established a specialist mood disorders clinic and have significant experience in managing multiple aspects of risk.
I have received training in a variety of psychological therapies (including CBT, DBT and dynamic psychotherapy) and utilise aspects of these in my care. I work alongside highly trained psychologists to enable access to a range of psychological therapies. In addition, I offer medico-legal assessments and occupational health reports.
I have held multiple training and leadership roles including as Foundation Training Programme Director for Psychiatry, Lead Consultant in Adult Mental Health and Acting Clinical Director for Leicester Partnership Trust (LPT). I have been medical lead for LPT’s All Age Transformation from 2017-2019 and currently support the Central Access Point, removing barriers to accessing mental health care.
