I am a Consultant Medical Oncologist with subspecialty expertise in lower gastrointestinal and gynaecological malignancies.
I care for patients with bowel cancers (small intestine, appendix, colon, rectal and anal) and gynaecological cancers (ovarian, womb/uterine, cervical), providing personalised treatment plans based on the latest medical evidence. Whether in the NHS or private sector, my focus is on delivering expert care with clarity, compassion, and support at every stage of the journey.
In my practice, every patient receives a treatment plan that is as individual as they are. I take the time to understand not only the type of cancer you have, but also the specific biomarkers and genetic features of your tumour. This personalised approach means we can select the most effective and safest treatments for you (whether that’s traditional chemotherapy, cutting-edge immunotherapy, or the latest targeted anti-cancer agents.) Given my active role in recruiting patients to clinical trials, I will always ensure you are considered for these opportunities whenever possible, giving you access to promising new treatments before they become widely available. My aim is to ensure you feel informed, supported, and confident in every decision we make together, in a caring and safe environment where your wellbeing is always my priority.
I completed my primary medical education in Iraq before moving to the UK, where I obtained a postgraduate MD in General Internal Medicine at the University of Buckinghamو followed by a Postgraduate Certificate in Oncology at the University of Nottingham. I completed my specialty training in Medical Oncology at Leicester University Hospitals NHS Trust in 2023 and have since been appointed as a substantive consultant oncologist at the same trust.
I supervise and mentor oncology trainees at Leicester University Hospitals, helping to shape and inspire the next generation of oncologists. I also serve as a Clinical Teacher for medical students at the University of Leicester, sharing my knowledge and passion for patient-centred cancer care.
I have contributed to a range of cancer research studies. My work has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented at national and international conferences, helping to advance cancer care for patients worldwide.
