I have over 26 years of experience in paediatrics. After completing my postgraduate paediatric training in General Paediatrics from abroad and in the UK, I completed by specialist training in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (PGHAN) in the UK with CCT.
My Paediatric Gastroenterology training involved working in Southampton Children’s Hospital and later in Birmingham Children’s Hospital, one of the largest centres in the country for paediatric gastroenterology and paediatric liver and small bowel transplantation. I have been working as a consultant paediatric gastroenterologist at Leicester Children’s Hospital, university Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL) since 2014.
I have extensive experience in managing gastrointestinal conditions in children including gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, inflammatory bowel disease, constipation, dietary intolerances including cow's milk protein intolerance, recurrent abdominal pains, coeliac disease and growth faltering. I also have expertise in dealing with nutritional issues in children and paediatric liver diseases.
I have special interest in management of paediatric inflammatory bowel disease (PIBD) and I am a regional lead for PIBD at UHL. Having completed a paediatric endoscopy and colonoscopy trainer's courses, I have a keen interest in training trainees in this skill.
At Spire Hospital, I offer consultation and treatment for children with gastrointestinal conditions between 0-18 years of age. I also offer endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures as a day case for children between 2-18 years of age.
