Patient experience - gynaecology surgery
A female patient from Westcliff-on-sea, Essex, underwent gynaecology surgery in 2010 with Mr Yatin Thakur, consultant gynaecologist. Following the surgery, her husband contacted the hospital to express his gratitude towards the care that his wife had received.
Read the letter below:
"Both my wife and I would like to thank ALL your staff for the wonderful care, attendance and support you extended to my wife over the past couple of days whilst she was under Mr Yatin Thakur.
"As a pair of 'young' 70+ year olds we are somewhat 'experienced' at hospital and staff services and I can assure you that your hospital in our honest opinion, is probably one of the very best we have experienced, with everyone playing their part in such a truly friendly and professional manner.
"Everyone from the kitchen lady to the physio and onto the very attentive nurse and sister, the latter of whom saw us off at the front door, as if my wife was the Queen!
"Apart from the above, the food was excellent in everyway and in abundance and was equally as good as a number of hotels.
"Under the care of a really nice and pleasant consultant specialist - Mr Yatin Thakur who was highly recommended to us and who was so re-assuring for my wife, we could not possibly have asked for anything better in the way of medical attention either from the 'No 1' or the entire support team, by which I do mean the hospital staff at Hartswood."
