Spire Hartswood Hospital presented with a Working Towards becoming Dementia Friendly sticker by the Billericay Dementia Action Alliance group

In October 2019, Counsellor Carl Roberts, Chairman of the Billericay Dementia Action Alliance Group visited and presented a Working Towards becoming Dementia Friendly sticker to Spire Hartswood Hospital. The hospital has been awarded for their commitment and action plan to ensure they reach their goal to becoming a dementia friendly hospital.

Hospital Director, co-founder and Deputy Chairman of the BDAA group, Jo Dean, has led the hospital to becoming a dementia friendly environment and worked to provide dementia training and support for our local GP practices, staff, nurses and consultants.

Commenting, Jo Dean says: “I am delighted that Spire Hartswood Hospital has been awarded with a Working Towards becoming Dementia Friendly sticker. The hospital has come together to support our action plan and everyone has worked very hard to play their part. We currently have over 164 members of staff who are dementia friends and who have pledged to help and raise awareness.”
