I am a Consultant General Surgeon at Spire London East Hospital, Ilford, and Spire Hartswood Hospital, Brentwood.

I was appointed as Consultant General Surgeon specialising in vascular and laparoscopic surgery at Barking, Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust in 1999 and have over 24 years experience in vascular and general surgery, as well as laparoscopic surgery. My NHS clinics are based at King George Hospital having worked there for more than 10 years.

I have extensive experience in vascular surgery - both venous and arterial. I was the first surgeon to perform the keyhole repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm (Endovascular Aneurysm Repair EVAR) in a District General Hospital using a stent graft at King George Hospital in 2000, and the first surgeon to perform keyhole repair or ruptured aortic aneurysm in a District General Hospital at Queens Hospital in 2013. I carry out a variety of other vascular procedures such as lower limb bypass surgery, carotid endarterectomy and angioplasties in the private sector.

I have a special interest in varicose vein surgery and the new minimally invasive treatment options that are available. I introduced the Radiofrequency ablation of varicose veins ( formerly known as VNUS Closure) and have performed over 2000 of these procedures in the NHS and private sector.

I also have a keen interest in laparoscopic surgery and first introduced the laparoscopic extraperitoneal hernia repair (TEP) at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospital NHS Trust. I also won the first prize for my presentation on laparoscopic hernia surgery at the European Endoscopic Surgeons Conference hosted in 2004.

I have carried out over 2000 laparoscopic hernia repairs in the NHS as well as private sector with only 10 recurrences. In addition to hernia surgery, I also routinely perform laparoscopic gallbladder surgery and minimally invasive thoracoscopic sympathectomy for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating of hands and armpits) as well as Botox Injections.

For patients concerned about spider and thread veins, I offer injection sclerotherapy treatment.
