I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Spire Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood, Essex, offering specialist private hip, knee, foot, wrist, ankle and general orthopaedic surgery.
I have been practising orthopaedic surgery since 1979 and during my formative years I gained broad training in general and vascular surgery, paediatric, maxillofacial, plastic, upper and lower limb trauma.
I wanted to have a comprehensive understanding of most surgical specialties before pursuing my career in orthopaedics. For total hip replacement surgery I use as small an incision as possible, so that recovery is quicker. However, I also have a special passion for hand and foot surgery in particular bunion (hallux valgus), Morton’s neuroma, silastic arthroplasties, Dupuytren’s, carpal tunnel, trigger finger, ganglion surgery etc.
I offer two clinics a week at Spire Hartswood which provides you, the patient, with a wider choice of appointments. A date for surgery, if necessary, is also arranged at the time of consultation. I regularly give presentations to GPs and patient participation groups on various topics of orthopaedic surgery.
