MD, MRCOpth
I am a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust since January 2020 where I provide a general ophthalmology service and specialty services in oculoplastics undertaking all forms of oculoplastic as well as lacrimal system procedures and treatments.
I am offering a comprehensive eyelid and lacrimal service for children and adults, heading alongside the division of emergency eye clinic. I have subspecialist training in the field of oculoplastic (eyelid) and lacrimal (tear duct) surgery in London, Reading and Cambridge. My particular area of clinical interest lies in the management of eyelid conditions ranging from aesthetic to reconstructive in nature.
I plan and provide treatment to a wide range of conditions of the eyelids and periocular region, reconstructive eyelid surgery - including post-Mohs surgery reconstruction, watery eyes (external and endoDCR surgery), blepharospasm, Thyroid Eye disease, ocular and periocular Neurofibromatosis (NF).
I have performed over 4,000 oculoplastic and lacrimal surgeries over a 10 year period in both my NHS and private practice.
I am also the clinical lead for the eye casualty services and the Regional Ophthalmic Practitioner Training Lead for North East London.
Having completed extensive training in the UK for three and a half years with Oculoplastics, Orbital and Lacrimal fellowships at Reading, Cambridge, and London, including a fellowship at the multidisciplinary craniofacial unit at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital I gained expertise to manage complex skin cancer reconstruction, thyroid eye disease and periocular trauma alongside general oculoplastic and lacrimal surgery.
As well as being a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, I am a Member of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society, the European Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and The Greek Ophthalmology Society.
I am also a qualified Assessor of the Royal College of ophthalmologists providing and facilitating training for the new generations.
