Shingles vaccination service

Now available at Spire GP

Shingles is an infection that causes a painful rash and is more common in those aged 50 and over.

It comes about as a result of reactivation of the chickenpox virus that can lie dormant in your body for years. The virus can be reactivated when your immune system is weakened and it can be extremely painful and uncomfortable.

The shingles vaccination service at Spire GP, helps protect against developing shingles.

Having the vaccine does not guarantee you will not get shingles, however, it will reduce your chances and if you are unfortunate enough to get shingles, it is likely that the symptoms will be milder.

The vaccine is available through our private GP service, Spire GP for those aged 50 and over and costs £275.
