Ms Tahmina Pearsall

Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon (with special interest in Glaucoma and Cataracts)

"It is a privilege to work as part of a team at Spire delivering a high class, bespoke and personalised service to patients."

Specialises in

I am a Consultant in Ophthalmology with a special interest in cataracts and glaucoma. I am an experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist previously based at one of the top London teaching hospitals and now at the Surrey and Sussex Hospital.

I have nearly 30 years' experience in Ophthalmology. I am UK trained, in Centres of Excellence such as Moorfields Eye Hospital, St Thomas’ and Addenbrooke’s (Cambridge) which has enabled me to offer excellent medical and surgical care across all aspects of Ophthalmology.

I have completed over 20,000 procedures and have a very low complication rate in cataract surgery.

I am determined to help patients understand their own health so they can be well informed when making important health decisions. Patients appreciate the warmth, professional integrity, and open communication that define my medical practice and this was recognised as a nomination for “Hospital Hero” at the Bartshealth NHS trust where I previously held a consultant post.

My academic achievements have won prizes both nationally and internationally and I now provide lectures to other clinicians and am also an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. I have always been interested in teaching. I lecture physicians in formal Ophthalmology courses, both nationally and internationally and train medical students and other doctors.
