"The facilities at Spire Clare Park Hospital are excellent. I find the team at Clare Park very committed, efficient and caring towards patients care."
I specialise in weight loss surgery, laparoscopic surgery (gallbladder, hiatus hernia and abdominal hernia surgery) and endoscopy procedures.
I have been a consultant upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgeon for the past five years at Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals NHS Trust. I have set up Bariatric Multi Disciplinary Meetings, Upper GI Dysmotility MDT and Gastroparesis MDT meetings at our trust. I have also set up various new services at Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals including Oesophageal manometry and pH monitoring. This has been proven to be a successful service in terms of finances and patient satisfaction. I am a trainee lead for all our higher surgical trainees. I am a national faculty member of Advanced Life Trauma Support Course and Critically Ill Surgical Patient Care courses. I have carried out greater than 2000 laparoscopic surgeries and around 500 to 600 weight loss procedures including complex revision operations. I publish my results in the National Registry (NBSR) and proud to mention I have very low complication and zero mortality rate.
To date I have performed 1,000 gallbladder operations, 500 weight loss operations, 5,000 endoscopic procedures and more than 100 anti-reflux operations and significant number of other laparoscopic procedures.
