I grew up in Wales and qualified from Sheffield Medical school in 1992. I obtained my FRCS (London) in 1997. I commenced my highly extensive and sub-specialised neurosurgical training at the Royal London Hospital, before completing my formal Neurosurgical training programme in University Hospital of Wales, with extensive training in both brain and spine surgery.

While working in the UK's largest and busiest Neurosurgical unit, I supported the Military Service at QEH, and was much involved in the development of Neuro-Trauma, Neurovascular and Neuro-oncology services. I am one of the most highly and extensively trained Neurosurgeons in the UK, with a passion for minimally invasive techniques, Neuro-endoscopy and microsurgical approaches for brain and spine.

I completed three long intensive fellowship programmes. The first being in Helsinki, Finland in Neurovascular conditions, microneurosurgery and skull base surgery techniques, followed by completion of the Paediatric neurosurgical fellowship programme in Vancouver, Canada. This was followed by a senior fellowship at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, with further experience in skull base surgery and minimally invasive techniques, before working as a Consultant Neurosurgeon for several years at QEH Birmingham, covering both general and complex brain and spine surgical disorders – including disc problems, spinal trauma, degenerative spine problems, spinal tumours, congenital spine problems, Chiari malformations, syringomyelia and spinal CSF disorders.

Following my appointment in 2014 at BSUH NHS Trust, I took up a new consultant position in Sussex Hurstwood Park/Brighton Neurological Centre.

I see adults only at Spire Gatwick Park Hospital.
