Professional profile

I have been a Consultant Paediatrician at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust for the past 13 years. I am experienced in all aspects of general paediatric and neonatal medicine, however I also have a special interest in paediatric endocrinology (hormone problems eg thyroid disorders) and disorders of growth and puberty. As an experienced general paediatrician I am happy to see children of all ages from infancy to adolescence. I am happy to perform routine check ups and assess children with chronic medical symptoms or any parental concern.

I am trained in general paediatrics and therefore able to see babies and children with any parental concern however I have further specialist training in endocrine disorders. Endocrine disorders include disorders of the hormone systems in our body such as thyroid or growth hormone disorders. I also investigate and manage disorders of growth such as short stature and obesity as well as early and delayed pubertal development.

I was Clinical Lead for Paediatrics for two years at East Surrey Hospital before being made Chief of Service for Women and Children’s Health, a post which I held for five years. I am currently the Paediatric Tutor at East Surrey Hospital ensuring excellent training for our future paediatric consultants and general practitioners. I am also a member of the Surrey Acute Paediatric Clinical Advisory Group which advises on clinical pathways for paediatric care across the county.
