I graduated from Oxford University Medical School in 1989. I gained extensive general medicine experience at the Queens Medical Centre, University Hospital of Nottingham, where I obtained membership of the Royal College of Physicians, and in the department of Paediatrics, where I obtained the Diploma in Child Health.

I have been a full time dermatologist since 1992, training as a Dermatology Registrar at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital and Senior Registrar in Oxford. I also undertook a graduate fellowship in cosmetic dermatology at the University of Miami as well as attachments with leading cosmetic dermatologists in New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Utah and California. I was appointed as Consultant Dermatologist in 1999, initially in Tunbridge Wells and then as Consultant Dermatologist at the University of Wales, Cardiff.

During my time in Oxford, I was awarded a Doctor of Medicine degree for a published research thesis. I currently hold a consultant contract at St George's Hospital Medical School where I continue my research interests. I also teach on the Cardiff postgraduate diploma in dermatology.

I participate in regular international conferences and visit overseas centres so I can apply the most advanced techniques currently available in dermatology, including cosmetic dermatology.

Throughout my 16 years as a Consultant Dermatologist, I have been active in teaching and research which has led to me publishing more than 40 scientific articles and book chapters on a variety of dermatology subjects.
