Mr Brendan Smith
Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgery
MBBS, MS, FRCS
"I have an extensive background in oncoplastic breast surgery. I provide a one-stop breast assessment, reducing stress for patients after becoming aware of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer."
I am an experienced breast and reconstructive surgeon who specialises in mammoplasty techniques to try and avoid mastectomy when possible. I also perform partial breast reconstruction using LICAP flaps and implant and ADM total breast reconstruction as well as LD flap and implant reconstructions.
I achieved my MBBS in 1991. I undertook my surgical training in the Oxford Region, obtained my FRCS in 1996, MS in 2003 and CCST in 2004. I underwent my sub-specialty training in breast disease and my fellowship post at South Manchester University Hospital in oncoplastic breast surgery. My research Masters Degree was on Micrometastases in Breast Cancer at the University of London.
