I was appointed in 2017 as a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon specialising in oncology and thoracic surgery.
My training prior to this appointment included an International Fellowship in Melbourne Children's Hospital and higher surgical training in Scotland based in Glasgow and Edinburgh. This has provided me with experience in advanced paediatric laparoscopic surgery as well as exposure to a high volume case load.
My day-to-day work consists of treating children with complex surgical conditions as well as routine general surgery of childhood.
The complex work I undertake includes surgery for cancer, congenital lung and upper gastrointestinal conditions. I use keyhole surgery where appropriate. My case load is approximately 350 cases per year.
