Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Eniola Folaranmi at Spire include:
Paediatric surgery including orchidopexy, inguinal herniotomy and PEG insertion.
I am a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon with advanced minimally invasive skills.
I undertook an 18 months laparoscopic fellowship in addition to my paediatric surgical training and have performed over 200 minimally invasive procedures in children.
I am the lead for research in the paediatric surgery department and have published widely in peer reviewed journals.
I have a specialist interest in general paediatric surgery of childhood. This includes performing the following: circumcision, inguinal herniotomy, orchidopexy, umbilical hernia repair, gastroscopy, division of tongue tie and epigastric hernia repair.
In addition I have a specialist interest in paediatric upper GI and thoracic cases. This includes performing the following: gastrostomy insertion, laparoscopic fundoplication, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and laparoscopic splenectomy.
I am the lead for clinical governance and research in the paediatric surgery department at University Hospital of Wales.
To date I have performed over 2,000 paediatric surgical procedures. Some of my operative numbers are: Gastrointestinal surgery (322), general surgery of childhood (eg hernia/hydrocele/circumcision/epigastric hernia) (800), laparoscopic surgery (fundoplication/cholecystectomy/splenectomy/appendicectomy/UDT) (250), oncology/endocrine surgery (355) and neonatal surgery (213).
