I am a Consultant Neurosurgeon with over 14 years experience in cranial and spinal neurosurgery.

My work as a neurosurgeon is focussed on helping patients with conditions of the nervous system and spine improve their health and quality of life. I draw on my extensive training and experience to assess each person's clinical condition, and work with them to develop a treatment plan suited to their individual circumstances and priorities.

I graduated with distinction from Cardiff University Medical School in 2010, having previously achieved a first-class degree in Neuroscience and in doing so I was awarded the Malcolm Roberts Prize for the highest performance in the final examinations.

I completed foundation training in London and then entered the national neurosurgical training programme in the West Midlands. Here I gained comprehensive training in cranial and spinal neurosurgery in both adults and children. After completion of my training I undertook advanced fellowship training in minimally invasive endoscopic and open skull base surgery in Leeds and Cardiff.

My spinal consultant practice specialises in treating patients with degenerative conditons and spinal tumours. I specialise in performing epidural injections and spinal surgery for conditions causing pain, weakness and numbness in the neck, back and limbs such as myelopathy, spinal stenosis, disc herniations, cysts and spinal tumours.

My cranial consultant practice covers all general neurosurgery and specialises in treating patients with tumours and other diseases of the skull base. I am a core member of both the South Wales Pituitary, and the Skull Base Multi-Disciplinary Teams which provide specialist clinical advice and treatment for the 2.5million catchment population of Mid and South Wales.

To date I have performed several thousand procedures on the brain and spine. This includes >500 operations on the neck and back, >400 operations to treat hydrocephalus, >400 operations for head injuries, >300 operations to remove brain tumours such as meningiomas and schwannomas and >200 endoscopic operations for pitutiary tumours.

My research interests include patient outcomes following pituitary surgery and advanced magnetic resonance imaging techniques. I am actively involved in postgraduate education and act as an Educational and Clinical Supervisor for neurosurgery trainees in Wales. I have presented my research at national and international conferences and I actively teach on neurosurgical cranial and spinal courses.
