At Spire Cardiff Hospital I provide a general ophthalmic service for many common eye conditions. I am a highly experienced cataract surgeon, managing straightforward and refractive cases. I also regularly manage cataract patients that whether for medical reasons or ophthalmic complexity need extra support beyond a standard cataract care pathway.
As part of my Vitreoretinal specialism I am regularly referred patients into both Spire and my NHS service from surgeons in other South Wales ophthalmic units that have run into surgical complications whilst performing cataract surgery and need my specialist skills to stabilise and rehabilitate the eyes.
My clinical interest is the specialist surgical management of vitreoretinal conditions including: retinal detachment, macular hole, epiretinal membrane, complex diabetic disease, intraocular foreign bodies, subluxated lens and ocular trauma. I perform specialist retinal laser for complex diabetic eye disease. At Spire I perform treatment for posterior capsular opacification (YAG laser).
For further details on the service I provide at Spire please visit my website.
