I'm a Consultant Clinical Immunologist at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board where I provide allergy and immunodeficiency clinics for patients across South Wales. I graduated from Cambridge University and Guy’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine, and then undertook general medicine training in London, Worthing and Oxford. I subsequently specialised in Immunology at University Hospital of Wales and am on the GMC Specialist Register.
I am pleased to offer services for the diagnosis and management of allergic and immunological conditions at Spire Cardiff Hospital, which includes a desensitisation service for aeroallergens (eg house dust mite, grass pollens, tree pollens, cat, dog and horse).
Please note: I do not offer bee/wasp venom or food desensitisation, and I do not offer a penicillin/drug allergy service.
My research interests include the use of microarray technology to improve the diagnosis of immunodeficiencies and allergies. I have an MSc in medical immunology, and an MD in immunology research. I have multiple peer-reviewed publications and have presented at numerous meetings - local, national and international.
In addition to my clinical work I am proud to represent my specialty in a number of roles. These include Examiner at the Royal College of Pathologists (for allergy, clinical and laboratory immunology), member of the Executive Council for the Association of Clinical Pathologists, and member for the Royal College of Physicians Steering Group for Allergy Accreditation. I am also on the medical advisory panels for a number of patient groups/charities including Immunodeficiency UK and Anaphylaxis UK.
