Mr Salah Albuheissi
I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon with sub-specialist interest in open, laparoscopic and robotic surgery for kidney and the retroperitoneum (testis cancer and sarcoma) and in Andrology.
I completed basic surgical training in London and then carried out a research project at the Institute of Cancer Research, one of the world’s most influential cancer research institutes, which culminated in the award of MD degree (Doctor of Medicine) from the University of London.
I received specialist training in urology in the Southwest of England, and visited the Cleveland Clinic in the USA and Innsbruck in Austria to learn and develop new techniques in Robotic and Laparoscopic Surgery.
I manage complex renal cancers with open, laparoscopic and robotic techniques, and currently one of the highest volume surgeons in the region. I have excellent expertise in Nephron-Sparing surgery and currently one of the few surgeons in the UK performing minimally invasive surgery (keyhole) for post-chemotherapy Retro Peritoneal Lymph Node Dissection for testicular cancer.
In addition to managing a variety of other urological conditions, I have a special interest in andrology, and performs corrective surgery for penile curvature and penile implants for erectile dysfunction.
I am currently the Lead for Training and Education at the Bristol Urological Institute and in charge of the Fellowship Training Programme.
