Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr James Robinson at Spire include:
Orthopaedic surgery: Osteoarthritis, Sports injury, Soft tissue injuries, Knee Surgery Arthroscopy
I am a specialist in knee surgery. I did my orthopaedic training in London where I was also Research Fellow in Sports Truama Surgery at the Imperial College. Here I published my thesis on knee ligament injuries and was awarded the prestigious Master of Surgery degree by the University of London. A further 6 months fellowship was spent at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre, Bristol where I specialised in Unicompartmental (Partial) knee replacements.
I spent a year's fellowship in Bordeaux at the "Clinique du Sport", consistently rated as one of France's top sports clinics, where I was trained in the latest arthroscopic surgery techniques, including Anatomic "Double-bundle" ACL reconstruction. In addition, I became proficient in the use of Computer-Assisted Surgery (CAS) for improved accuracy in ligament reconstruction and knee replacement procedures.
I have published many research articles and book chapters on knee surgery. I am regularly invited to lecture and present my research at international meetings. I am a reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine and recently won the British Association for Surgery of the Knee Presidents Medal. As a consultant to orthopaedic industry companies, I have developed surgical techniques and instruments to improve knee ligament reconstruction.
