MBBS MRCP PhD
I have been a Consultant Cardiologist and Cardiac Electrophysiologist since 2021, specialising in the diagnosis and management of heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias). My practice includes the full spectrum of catheter ablation procedures for both simple and complex arrhythmias, delivered using the latest evidence-based techniques and technologies.
I specialise in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology, with a particular focus on the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias). My expertise includes catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation, atrial tachycardia, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), ventricular ectopic beats (PVCs), and ventricular tachycardia (VT), as well as the implantation and management of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs).
I am a high-volume operator with extensive experience in cardiac electrophysiology procedures. To date, I have performed more than 1,300 catheter ablations, including over 700 atrial fibrillation ablations.
I have particular expertise in the use of intracardiac echocardiography (ICE), having completed more than 250 ICE-guided procedures, and I routinely utilise the latest catheter ablation technologies, including Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA).
In addition, I have implanted more than 800 cardiac implantable electronic devices, including pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), and subcutaneous ICDs (S-ICDs).
I am accredited in invasive cardiac electrophysiology by both the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) and the British Heart Rhythm Society (BHRS), reflecting my commitment to maintaining the highest standards of specialist practice.
I have a strong academic background alongside my clinical practice. I was awarded a PhD in Cardiovascular Science (with Merit) for research into platelet function testing and antiplatelet therapy. My research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, presented at international scientific conferences, and recognised through shortlisting for European cardiology congress awards.
Education and mentorship are central to my professional practice. I hold a Postgraduate Degree in Medical Education from the University of Warwick and am committed to training the next generation of cardiologists. In recognition of this commitment, I have been twice nominated by trainees for the British Junior Cardiologists' Association (BJCA) Trainer of the Year Award, reflecting the value I place on high-quality teaching, supervision, and mentorship.
