Dr Julie-Rose McCanny
General Practitioner (GP)
I have graduated from the University of Aberdeen medical school in 2006. It was during my general practice placement that I discovered my passion for community based medicine, which drove me to complete my GP training in 2011 in the west of Scotland region. I am highly experienced in all aspects of general practice but I have special interests in women’s health, psychiatry and general medicine.
In 2012 I have moved to Sydney Australia for my husband’s fellowship, where I worked in the Oncology unit in St George Hospital. During this placement I was involved in the care of oncology patients and developed an interest in Palliative care. Here I was able to further develop key communication skills which I have transferred to my work in general practice.
On returning to the United Kingdom I have worked as a GP partner in a large practice in Aberdeen before moving with my family to Sussex. I now work as a GP in Worthing.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Julie-Rose McCanny at Spire include:
The Montefiore Hospital is only able to provide Covid-19 tests to patients undergoing surgery at our hospital. Covid-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service.
I enjoys horse riding and running in my spare time, as well spending time with my family.
