Virtual consultations:
I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon practising privately at Spire Washington Hospital within the Northeast, supporting patients from across Sunderland, Durham and Newcastle. I specialise in knee surgery, soft tissue knee reconstruction, sports injuries, foot surgery and trauma surgery.
My main clinical focus is on knee arthroscopy (keyhole surgery), knee ligament reconstruction, and knee replacement surgery. I regularly treat patients with sports related injuries, including ligament, cartilage and meniscal damage, as well as those affected by arthritis, including younger and more active individuals who wish to maintain mobility and independence.
As part of my specialist training in knee and sports medicine, I gained extensive experience in advanced arthroscopic techniques and had the opportunity to care for elite professional athletes. I worked as part of the orthopaedic team supporting the Queensland Reds (rugby union), Brisbane Broncos (rugby league) and Brisbane Bullets (basketball), which helped shape my approach to treating both sporting and everyday knee injuries.
In addition to knee surgery, I manage selected foot conditions and trauma‑related injuries, working closely with physiotherapists to ensure a clear and structured recovery plan.
I hold a consultant post at Sunderland Royal Hospital and am committed to helping each patient understand their condition and treatment options, enabling confident and informed decisions about their care.
