I am a Consultant General Surgeon with an interest in laparoscopic surgery and vascular surgery. In my general surgery practice, I carry out open and laparoscopic groin, inguinal, femoral and obturator hernia repair and I also undertake laparoscopic repair of Gilmore's chronic groin strain. Additionally, I provide surgery for varicose veins, including the VNUS ablation procedure.

I qualified as a medical doctor from Trinity College Dublin in June 1979. I was awarded my surgical fellowship by The Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 1984 and my doctorate in Medicine by Trinity College Dublin in 1994. My surgical training was carried out in Dublin, Durham, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Carlisle and Melbourne, Australia.

I am a member of the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland.
