Professional profile

I have over 18 years of experience in Plastic Surgery. I specialise in Breast Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, post massive weight loss surgery, skin surgery, hand surgery, male and female genito-urethral surgery, hypospadias surgery, laser and general plastic surgery.

I have performed over 5,500 procedures in Plastic Surgery. These include: Skin surgery (2,200), Hand surgery (770), Breast ( 270), Lower limb surgery (260), Genito-urethral surgery (200), Free flap procedures (150) and Aesthetic surgery (115).

I qualified as a doctor from Hyderabad, India, came to UK and completed my Basic Surgical Training in Cardiff and South Wales. And then trained in various Plastic Surgery units in UK including, Plymouth, Hull, Dudley, Aylesbury and Coventry. I completed Fellowships in Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery at the Texas Medical Centre, Houston, USA and the University Hospital of Brussels, Belgium. I am also qualified in use of Medical Lasers. Having worked for eight year as an Associate Specialist in Plastic Surgery at the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, I qualified as a specialist Plastic Surgeon in September 2013 and was added to the GMC Specialist Register in June 2016.

I am the Education Lead and Radiation Protection Supervisor for Plastic Surgery at the University Hospital of North Durham. I am a full member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and also a member of International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS).

I enjoy my role of being the Education Lead for Plastic Surgery. It keeps me in close touch with the trainees and their training at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

As a Radiation Protection Supervisor I look after the safety and efficiency of use of x-ray equipments.
