BSc, MSc, MBBS, MRCP, FRCR
I am a dedicated non-surgical cancer consultant specialising in urological cancers, including prostate, bladder and kidney cancer. With over five years’ experience as a consultant clinical oncologist, I focus on providing personalised, evidence-based care tailored to each individual’s needs.
I understand that a cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming, so I aim to offer clear guidance and compassionate support at every stage of your treatment. My priority is to help you feel informed, reassured and confident in your care.
At Spire Washington Hospital, I provide a range of systemic anti-cancer treatments, including immunotherapy (checkpoint inhibitors, also known as CPIs), targeted therapies such as tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), and chemotherapy. I also offer Radium 223 treatment for appropriate patients.
In addition, I specialise in PET-CT imaging, which can help to provide detailed information about cancer within the body. If radiotherapy is needed as part of your treatment plan, this is arranged and delivered at a nearby NHS Trust hospital.
My practice includes both the latest targeted and immunotherapy treatments alongside more established chemotherapy approaches, allowing me to tailor care to your specific diagnosis.
I graduated with merit from Newcastle University in 2008 and went on to gain broad clinical experience across the North East, with key training posts in Leeds, Manchester and London. I became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) in 2011 and achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (London) in clinical oncology in 2018. I completed my specialist training in clinical oncology in 2020.
Alongside my clinical work, I am actively involved in improving cancer care at a national and local level. I am Chair of the National Prostate Cancer Bone Health Management Guideline Development Group, hosted by the Royal College of Radiologists. I also serve as Quality and Safety Lead for the Cancer and Haematology Board at Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and I am the Kidney Cancer Lead within the uro-oncology tumour group at my NHS Trust.
These roles help ensure that my practice remains closely aligned with the latest standards and developments in cancer care.
