Professional profile

I completed my medical training at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2009. Following qualification I completed all of my Junior Doctor and GP specialty training in hospitals and GP surgeries around the North East of England which affords me a great understanding of health services in the area.

Having completed my GP training in early 2015, my husband and I went to work as GPs in Canada which was an unforgettable experience, however, the lure of home was never far from our hearts and we returned to Newcastle (my adopted home) in early 2016.

Prior to studying Medicine, I completed a degree in Sports Science and Health from Dublin City University. My Knowledge and understanding on the impact of diet and exercise on general health, means that I have a very holistic approach to healthcare and truly believe in the value of lifestyle change as, at the very least, an adjunct to more traditional therapies for many conditions. I currently divide my time between my salaried work as a GP in Gateshead, my work in a Walk In Centre, performing Health Assessments for Bupa and providing Private GP Services at Spire Washington.

I enjoy all aspects of General Practice, but have a special interest in Mental Health and Dermatology.
