Spire Healthcare, Physiolistic and Henley Rugby Club unite to strengthen local MSK care, sport and community wellbeing

08 May 2026

Spire Healthcare has announced a new partnership with Physiolistic and Henley Rugby Club, bringing together hospital-based care, expert physiotherapy and community sport to support health and wellbeing across Henley and the wider Thames Valley.

The collaboration follows Spire Healthcare’s acquisition of Physiolistic, a respected local provider of physiotherapy and musculoskeletal services with a strong clinical reputation and a longstanding commitment to patient centred care. Physiolistic operate as within Spire’s Primary Care Services division and provide access to both Spire Dunedin Hospital, Reading and Spire Thames Valley Hospital, Wexham.

Physiolistic already provides physiotherapy services at Dunedin Hospital. The acquisition reflects a shared ambition to build on what is already working well. Closer collaboration between the Physiolistic teams and Spire Hospitals, will allow teams to share best practice, strengthen MSK pathways and further enhance the care available to patients and consultants. This complements Spire Healthcare’s ambition to be a leading provider of MSK in the region, supported by easy access to the two Spire Hospitals in Reading and Wexham.

The partnership now extends into local sport through Spire Healthcare’s support of Henley Rugby Club, known as the Henley Hawks. Supported jointly by Spire Dunedin Hospital, Spire Thames Valley Hospital in Wexham and Spire Clinics. The sponsorship demonstrates Spire’s commitment to promoting active, healthy lifestyles and supporting organisations rooted in their local communities.

The club already benefits from physiotherapy and rehabilitation support through Physiolistic, and the new partnership strengthens that provision by aligning acute injury management, rehabilitation and access to hospital-based diagnostics when required.

Spire Healthcare said: “This partnership brings together high-quality hospital care, expert physiotherapy and community sport to support health and wellbeing across the Thames Valley. Working alongside Physiolistic and Henley Rugby Club allows us to strengthen local MSK services, support active lifestyles and make a positive difference for both patients and the wider community.”

Henley Rugby Club Chairman Chris Nixon welcomed the partnership, commenting:
“The support of Spire Healthcare, alongside continued access to physiotherapy expertise from Physiolistic, reinforces the club’s commitment to player welfare, performance and community engagement.”

Together, Spire Healthcare, Physiolistic and Henley Rugby Club see this partnership as a shared investment in local health, bringing clinical excellence, rehabilitation expertise and community sport together to deliver meaningful benefits on and off the field.
