I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals.
I have a specialist interest in hip and knee surgery. This includes joint replacement and revision surgery, sports injuries to the hip, knee, foot and ankle. I have expertise in minimally invasive joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee, arthroscopic knee surgery and in soft tissue conditions around the hip and knee.
I am one of the UK's lead surgeons in the Rapid Recovery Programme for joint replacement surgery; a patient focused approach to the management of hip and knee replacement patients aimed at improving their experiences and allowing a faster rehabilitation.
I am a regular speaker on hip and knee surgery at various international meetings and teach regularly on a number of international courses in hip and knee surgery. To continue my research interests, I am the UK principal investigator for a new technology in knee replacement.
I graduated from University College London in 1992. My higher surgical training was on the South West Thames Orthopaedic rotation. I completed my training in 2004.
During my training, I was appointed as the first ever Football Association research fellow and my work lead to a number of publications on the kinematics of the knee joint. To complete my training, I undertook a prestigious fellowship in Sydney, Australia. I gained extensive experience in hip and knee arthroplasty and revision hip and knee replacement in a tertiary referral practice both in the young and the elderly as well as with a number of hip and knee pathologies.
