I am a UK trained Consultant Colorectal, Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeon at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. I graduated from Barts and The London School of Medicine in 2008 and completed surgical training in several major London centres, including Guys and St Thomas NHS Trust, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and the Imperial NHS hospitals of St Marys and Charing Cross. I undertook a Robotic Surgery Fellowship at UHCW, one of the UKs highest volume robotic surgery centres.
My practice includes advanced bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, digestive system disorders, emergency and trauma surgery, benign intestinal disease, abdominal wall and groin hernias, TAMIS, endoscopy, pelvic floor disorders, pilonidal sinus disease, and anal conditions such as haemorrhoids, fissures and fistula.
I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the European Board of Surgeons. I am JAG-accredited in colonoscopy. My academic background includes a BSc in Pathology, a Masters in Surgical Technology, and a PhD in Patient Safety from Imperial College. My expertise in patient safety has enabled me to introduce safer processes and pathways, improving the experience of patients and their families. I serve as Deputy Medical Director for eXroid™ .
I am a formal educator and trainer, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. My strengths in education allow me to clearly explain conditions and empower my patients with informed, evidence-based recommendations. My patients often describe me as calm and easy to talk to. I pride myself in taking the time to understand how health problems, big or small, affect everyday life, and I work closely with my patients to find the right treatment for them.
