Personal Profile

Outside work, most of my interests are with sport. I represented Bristol University at golf, and am now a member of the Berkshire Golf Club and Lambourne Golf Club (handicap 6) and in 1990 was the Captain of the Windsor Medical Golf Society.

In 1971-1972 I played hockey for Gloucestershire while at Bristol University. I now do a fair amount of long distance running and have run 89 half marathons. I have organised several 10 kilometre 'Fun Runs' at Wexham Park Hospital, raising approximately £10,000 for the orthopaedic department. I have run the London marathon on five occasions, raising money for Wexham Park Hospital, the Lord's Taverners and Wishbone Trust, which was the charity arm of the British Orthopaedic Association for Wishbone. I also follow cricket closely being a member of the MCC.
