Mr Mike Amin

I am a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial/Head and Neck Surgeon specialising in: mouth, jaw and neck cancer, facial trauma, wisdom teeth, dental roots, jaw cysts, oral soft tissue lesions, dental implants, salivary gland disorders, temporomandibular joint problems and facial pain.

My main interest is the treatment of patients with mouth and jaw cancer including reconstruction with grafts, dental implants and prostheses. I am also interested in treating patients with facial injuries and fractures, salivary gland diseases such as stones and tumours, jaw joint problems and general oral problems such as impacted wisdom teeth, dental roots, jaw cysts and oral mucosal pathology.

I was appointed Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in August 2004. I work closely with ENT surgeons and Oncology colleagues in providing the head and neck cancer service in East Berkshire.

I have been married for 20 years; my wife is a dentist and we have three children. I enjoy walking in the countryside, gardening, traveling and keeping tropical fish. Outside my hospital work, I work with my wife in a dental practice providing dental implants and implant-retained prostheses and enjoy taking on difficult cases such as failing implants or cases which require bone grafts. When we are not working together, we both enjoy going to the cinema, eating out and trips to art galleries.
