I specialise only in benign and malignant breast conditions and have extensive knowledge and surgical experience in treating these conditions in a multidisciplinary manner following national guidelines. My main practice involves surgery for breast cancer including mastectomy (including nipple and skin sparing mastectomy if reconstruction), sentinel node biopsy, axillary clearance, breast reconstruction using prosthetic silicone implants, autologous muscle flaps and partial breast reconstruction. I also perform breast symmetrisation operations for previous cancer including lipofilling.
I trained in general surgery with breast as my specialist interest in various NHS hospitals in London. These included tertiary breast centres like Charing Cross and St Mary’s Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas. I have extensive training and experience in all aspects of breast care including benign and malignant surgical procedures.
My research experience involving novel imaging techniques in breast cancer patients using new experimental PET radiotracers at Imperial College London resulted in numerous peer reviewed publications in top journals and I was awarded a PhD from Imperial College London in 2011.
I maintain links with my past research and am actively involved as local principal investigator in various current breast cancer trials through the Association of Breast Surgery and other national networks.
