Professional profile

I see patients with all ENT problems but have an international reputation for ear surgery. I perform surgery for hearing loss in both adults and children with a particular interest in stapedectomy for otosclerosis and ossiculoplasty for damaged ear bones.

I completed my undergraduate training at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge and then the Royal London Hospital. My post graduate training was in London, Newcastle and Brisbane.

I run an annual international course in advanced middle ear surgery now in its 16th year. I also lecture each year at the famous Causse Ear Clinic in France. I teach throughout the world including the European Academy of Otology and Neurotology. In 2016 I have been invited to speak in France, Sweden, Turkey and the Netherlands. Every Thursday I broadcast my surgery through a live internet link to students and doctors in the Netherlands.

I am the current President of LION (live international otolaryngology network) which is a group of the world’s leading ear surgeons who are dedicated to teaching doctors across the globe via the internet. In 2016 I will take over as the President of the British Society of Otology for three years.
