I am a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Northwick Park, Ealing and Central Middlesex Hospitals part of London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. I have extensive experience in management of gynaecological problems, such as menstrual disorders, pelvic pain and urinary bladder disorders and am accredited and registered with the British Society of Urogynaecologists (BSUG) for medical and surgical management of urinary symptoms in women and of pelvic organ prolapse.
I have been performing gynaecological surgery since qualifying, and have performed over 400 hysterectomies, over 1,000 laparoscopies and 1,000 hysteroscopies across the scope of NHS and private practice.
I am an accredited colposcopist and trainer for management of abnormal cervical smears and high risk HPV (Human papilloma virus). I have been the lead for colposcopy and gynaecological cancer service at Ealing hospital and am very experienced in management of precancerous changes of female genital organs. I have completed advanced special skills modules in minimal access surgery including laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery for heavy periods (endometrial ablation, Mirena coil insertion), uterine fibroids (hysteroscopic resection, open myomectomy and hysterectomy), pelvic endometriosis (medical and surgical management) and ovarian cysts (laparoscopic cystectomy for benign cysts and endometriomas).
I am also up to date in counselling different contraceptive options as well as management of polycystic ovarian syndrome and management of menopausal symptoms. I am actively involved in teaching and training the specialist trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology as well as the GP trainees and am an examiner for Part 3 MRCOG examination for Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.
I am the clinical lead for the urogynaecological service at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. I have special interests in the management of urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic floor dysfunction, urodynamics and pelvic organ prolapse and am part of the multidisciplinary team, both local and regional for urogynaecological service and use NICE patient decision aid for management of these disorders.
I am the lead for gynaecological cancers at Ealing Hospital and chair multidisciplinary team meetings which discuss and plan management of patients. I am also a core member of the multidisciplinary team for urogynaecology.
I am actively involved with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. I review abstracts on their behalf and also regularly present my own abstracts at the World Congress each year. I am an examiner for the Part 3 MRCOG examinations.
