I have been a Consultant Gynaecologist for over 12 years, and have a special interest in female urinary problems including urinary urgency, frequency and incontinence. I am registered with the British Society of UroGynaecology (BSUG) and perform vaginal surgery for utero-vaginal prolapse and for stress incontinence. I am one of the few accredited surgeons for inserting transobturator and transvaginal tapes (TOT and TVT). I am an accredited colposcopist and trainer, and have been the colposcopy lead for the Trust until 2012, responsible for management of abnormal cervical smears. I am currently the lead for gynaecological cancers at Ealing Hospital, responsible for timely and correct management of women diagnosed with gynaecological cancers. I am also interested in medical and surgical management of heavy periods and of pelvic pain including uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, and endometriosis.
I perform vaginal surgery for correction of utero-vaginal prolapse and also surgery for stress incontinence such as transobturator tape (TOT) and transvaginal tape (TVT). I perform laparoscopic surgery for ovarian cysts, adhesions and endometriosis, and hysteroscopic removal of polyps and resection of fibroids. I perform abdominal and vaginal hysterectomies, and removal of fibroids (myomectomy) in women who wish to preserve fertility.
I have been performing gynaecological surgery since qualifying, and have performed over 400 hysterectomies, over 1000 laparoscopies and 1000 hysteroscopies across the scope of NHS and private practice.
I am the lead for gynaecological cancers at Ealing Hospital and chair multidisciplinary team meetings which discuss and plan management of patients. I am also a core member of the multidisciplinary team for urogynaecology.
I am actively involved with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. I review abstracts on their behalf and also regularly present my own abstracts at the World Congress each year. I am an examiner for the Part 3 MRCOG examinations.
