I have been a consultant for 14 years, and have a special interest in colposcopy and management of abnormal cervical smears, I am also interested in medical and surgical management of heavy periods and of pelvic pain including uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, and endometriosis. I am registered with the British Society of Uro-gynaecology and perform vaginal surgery for utero-vaginal prolapse.
I provide a complete assessment of patients attending for gynaecology consultation, performing a pelvic ultrasound assessment at the same time. A diagnosis is made immediately and plans put in place for further management. I consult across a wide range of gynaecological conditions, including menstrual abnormalities, pelvic pain and miscarriage, and also provide follicular tracking by ultrasound examination to women who are trying for pregnancy.
I perform laparoscopic surgery for ovarian cysts, adhesions and endometriosis, and hysteroscopic removal of polyps and resection of fibroids. I perform abdominal and vaginal hysterectomies, removal of fibroids (myomectomy) in women who wish to preserve fertility, and correction of utero-vaginal prolapse.
I am the lead for colposcopy at Frimley Health Foundation Trust covering Wexham Park, Heatherwood and Frimley Park Hospitals, and am overall responsible for the smooth running and quality assurance of the service across all sites. I also sit in the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists' Green Top Guidelines Committee responsible for producing national guidelines and also validating guidelines produced by other bodies such as NICE.
