Specialises in
Virtual consultations:
I have practised as a Consultant urological surgeon for over 10 years, initially at UCLH in London and then in Winchester and Southampton since 2009. My main focus has been to develop and provide a high-quality regional service in andrology and male genital surgery for the South Coast region, but I also enjoy general and diagnostic urology for conditions such as urinary infections, prostatitis, foreskin problems and prostate or bladder symptoms.
My specialist field encompasses male infertility, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, testosterone deficiency, penile skin problems, penile cancer and incontinence. I am one of the busiest surgeons in the UK for this sub-speciality, performing over 300 procedures per year such as urethroplasty, penile prostheses, Micro-TESE surgical sperm retrieval, vasectomy reversal, Nesbit / Lue procedures, Artificial urinary sphincters and male slings.
I am frequently asked for second opinions from colleagues further afield, where initial treatment may have not been effective, and undertake medico-legal work as an expert witness in this subspecialist area. I am also regularly asked to speak on the above areas both nationally and internationally.
I graduated from the Royal London Hospital and subsequently trained in surgery in London, and Urology in Wessex. I spent a period at the Wolfson Institute of Biomedical Research investigating the basic science of erectile dysfunction and benign prostate hyperplasia, and subsequently undertook a Fellowship in surgical andrology at UCLH, London.
I was elected Chairman of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (Andrology / GURS Section) from 2018-2020, and spent a further six years as a committee member. I have also represented the Wessex region on NHS England’s Urology commissioning committee (CRG).
