Professional profile

I am an upper limb consultant surgeon who specialises in treating shoulder, elbow and hand conditions, using ‘keyhole’ and ‘open’ surgical techniques. I was appointed to the University of Southampton Foundation Trust in 2016, where I offer a tertiary referral service to the surrounding regions. My surgical passion is arthroscopic surgery and I am currently working on combining this with my research passion of stem cells.

I specialises in upper limb surgery:

Shoulder: Rotator cuff impingement and tears, Shoulder instability, Acromioclavicular pathology, Shoulder arthritis, Complex shoulder trauma.

Elbow: Tennis / Golfers elbow, Ulnar nerve compression, Elbow arthritis including arthroscopy / replacement, Complex elbow trauma.

Hand: Carpal tunnel syndrome, Trigger finger, Dupuytrens contracture, Arthritis of the base of thumb, Complex hand trauma.

I am currently the orthopaedic undergraduate lead for the University of Southampton.

I am the author of the Chapter 'The Shoulder' in the internationally recognised textbook 'Rheumatology' (vol 7) Hochberg MC, Silman AJ, Smolen JS, Weinblatt ME, Weisman WH editors.
