Dr Willis holds regular clinics at the Spire Southampton Hospital on a Wednesday. Dr Richard Willis trained at New College, Oxford & St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. He spent some time after qualification working in the Medical Professorial Unit at St Bartholomew’s Hospital under Professor Michael Besser, studying particularly pituitary endocrinology.
Dr Willis was previously a principal in an NHS general practice in Salisbury. During this time he was general practice tutor for Salisbury and also a general practice trainer. He resigned from the NHS in 1994 and set up the Southern Independent Medical Practice, an Independent general practice based in Salisbury. Dr Willis and his practice are pleased to offer patients the time and care they need with significantly longer appointment times. He is pleased to also have the opportunity to see patients at the Spire Southampton, Hampshire.
Dr Willis has particular interests in cardiology, endocrinology, sexual medicine, and preventive health care, but as a GP he is happy to see patients with any health concerns, including complex health issues. Dr Willis can reassure any patient he sees that he will not share any clinical information without the patient’s consent.
