I am a Consultant Cardiologist and have been based at Wythenshawe Hospital since 2005. I provide care across all areas of general cardiology, supporting patients with symptoms and conditions including breathlessness, high blood pressure, cholesterol problems, heart rhythm issues and chest pain. I also have a specialist interest in heart failure.
I understand that heart-related symptoms can feel worrying and sometimes overwhelming. My approach is to listen carefully, explain things clearly and work with you to find the most appropriate treatment and management plan for your individual needs.
Alongside my general cardiology practice, I have a particular interest in cardio-oncology, which focuses on caring for people with heart conditions linked to cancer treatment. I also hold an appointment at The Christie Hospital in Manchester.
Between 2019 and 2021, I served as Chair of the British Society for Heart Failure (BSH), the highest national leadership position within the specialty, and I continue to remain actively involved with the Society.
I am also an Honorary Professor at the University of Manchester. Research and education are an important part of my work, and I have published extensively in major international medical journals. I am regularly invited to lecture at national and international meetings, helping to share developments and best practice in cardiology and heart failure care.
