Professional profile

I am consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon with special interest in keyhole (laparoscopic surgery). My NHS practice is based at Mid Cheshire NHS Foundation Trust. I did my higher surgical training in London Deanery at UCL and The Middlesex and was awarded CCST by the Royal College of Surgeon Intercollegiate Board. I was the Colorectal Lead and Chairperson for colorectal MDT at his Trust. I was also the Head of Enhance Recovery Programme in Surgery (ERAS). I am an expert in minimal invasive surgery for haemorrhoids (THD procedure) and I am a National Trainer for THD in the United Kingdom. I am also a National Trainer for LAPCO (National Training Programme for Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery). I am keen in research, teaching and teaching. I am an educational and clinical supervisor in the region. I am a JAG approved endoscopist and preform both upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopies. A major part of my practice includes management of inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer.

Colorectal Surgery: Minimally invasive haemorrhoid surgery (THD, HALO, PPH) ,treatment of anal fissure, fistula, anal warts. Management of diverticular disease. keyhole (laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery), Illeostomy closure, reversal of Hartmann's, pilonidal sinus treatment, management of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and investigations of IBS and treatment of incontinence. TEMS procedure. General Surgery: Sports hernia surgery, laparoscopic hernia repair (Keyhole repair) for inguinal hernia, femoral hernia, incisional hernia and umbilical hernia repair. gall bladder surgery, circumcision, excision of cysts and moles. Management and devision of adhesions. Endoscopy: I am JAG certified endoscopist and my practice includes, colonoscopy and gastroscopy.

olorectal Resections: My practice includes management of benign and malignant colorectal conditions. I have performed more than 1000 bowel resections for bowel cancer, crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. About 75 percent of my elective bowel surgery is by keyhole (laparoscopic technique). I am a National Trainer for minimally invasive haemorrhoid surgery and have performed more than 300 THD procedures, I also specialize in HALO procedure and PPH. Hernia Surgery: I have keen interest in repair of abdominal hernias and have repaired greater than 1000 different hernias during my carrier like inguinal hernia repair, femoral hernia repair and incision hernia repair. Gall bladder surgery: I have performed more than 1000 laparoscopic cholecystectomies for gall stones
