I undertook early surgical training at the Bristol Royal Infirmary and then completed a year of research at the University of Chicago, USA, under the tutelage of Professor Gerald Chodak, one of the world's leading authorities on prostate cancer.
I completed urological training in the Wessex region including the cancer centres of Southampton, Portsmouth and Bournemouth. In 2008 I was awarded a fellowship by the Endourology Society to undertake advanced training in laparoscopic and robotic surgery at the University of Toronto, Canada, a world renowned centre of excellence for urological disease and minimally invasive surgery.
In 2009 I was awarded another fellowship, this time by the Royal College of Surgeons of England, to undertake a further year of sub-specialist expertise in complex open and laparoscopic cancer surgery at University Hospital Birmingham.
