Professional profile

I have been a Consultant Vascular Surgeon for 20 years. I completed my vascular training between Leicester, Nottingham and St Mary's Paddington after spending two years in the USA. I developed extensive experience in multi modality modern treatment of varicose veins through working at The Whiteley Clinic which has pioneered modern minimal access treatments in the UK.

I have performed several hundred keyhole vein treatments including laser and radio frequency ablation, the majority under local anaesthesia. I have also been using foam sclerotherapy for treatment over the last 10 years.

In arterial surgery I have been periodically one of the busiest surgeons in the UK treating aortic aneurysm disease with excellent outcomes published in the National Vascular Registry annual reports. I also have a long experience of treating both lower limb arterial disease and carotid artery disease.

Clinical Interests

Hernia repair surgery
Vascular surgery

Special clinical interests: Hernia, Lipomata, Thread/spider veins and Varicose veins.

Personal Profile

Apart from my family and my work as a vascular surgeon my main passion is the violin. I am an outdoor person with an interest in exploring the more rugged or mountanious parts of France on a bike. I must also own up to a weakness for following football.
