I have particular interests in men’s health, sexual health and preventive healthcare, however I am happy to see patients with any health concerns, including complex health issues or stress related issues.
Following my first degree in Genetics and Microbiology at Queen Mary College in London, I went on to study medicine at Southampton Medical School. On completion of my medical degree and prior to starting my training as a GP, I worked at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth for many years, where I developed a firm grounding in several medical specialties which have contributed to my knowledge and expertise in General Practice.
I hold a regular men's health clinic where you can come to discuss a wide range of male focused healthcare concerns. During these sessions you will have 30 minutes to thoroughly discuss any health concerns you may have, whether you’ve discovered a lump or are worried about something else from mental health to diabetes.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Aigbs Ohiwerei at Spire include:
Spire Portsmouth Hospital is only able to provide Covid-19 tests to patients undergoing surgery at our hospital. Covid-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service.

Outside of work I am kept busy and enjoy spending quality time with my partner and two young children. I am a big jazz fan and relax to the likes of Miles Davis and Courtney Pine whilst tending to my allotment or when cooking up a storm for the family.
As well as personal fitness, I enjoy running and have taken part in the Great South Run each year for the last three years, supporting ‘Get Kids Going!’, which helps children with disabilities partake in sport. I have also completed the Southampton Marathon twice!
