After training posts in General Medicine in Merseyside, I further specialised in Respiratory and General Medicine as a Registrar in Merseyside.
In addition to my routine clinical training, I spent two years as a Clinical and Research Fellow at the prestigious Adult Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Unit at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, which is among the largest CF units in the country. During this time, I carried out research into Cystic Fibrosis Related Diabetes, and completed my MD thesis through the University of Liverpool.
Following completion of my training, I worked as a Consultant in CF, Respiratory and General medicine at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Trust, one of the largest NHS Trusts in the South-West of England, prior to relocating back to Merseyside.
I am a Respiratory Consultant at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in the Institute of Infection and Global Health at the University of Liverpool. I have published several scientific articles in Respiratory medicine and continue to be research active.
I have various research interests; Cystic fibrosis related diabetes (CFRD), CF renal disease, respiratory microbiology.
