Our Kidney Stones Clinic is run by experts clinicians to provide treatment for kidney stone patients.
Kidney stones are quite common, with around three in 20 men and up to two in 20 women developing them at some stage of their lives. They can form in your urine, become painful and - if untreated - damage your kidneys. If you have kidney stones, confirmed by a medical practitioner, then this clinic is for you.
If you suspect you have kidney stones you can book an appointment with Spire GP.
You’ll have a consultation with a consultant urologist for a detailed clinical assessment including your concerns and medical history. You’ll then have an examination and any diagnostics you might need, usually a CT scan followed by a treatment plan.
The size of your kidney stones will determine which procedure you have, but the most common form is a straightforward operation called a lithotripsy. This uses high-energy sound waves to break the stones down into tiny fragments, which are then flushed out of the body in the urine.
